Celebrate International Women's Day with the March Forward Art Exhibition.

In celebration of International Women's Day next month, the Northern Grampians community has the opportunity to enter the themed event, the March Forward Art Exhibition.
Members of the community are invited to submit a work of art, of any medium, showcasing a woman or girl they admire or who inspires them, with a short description of why you chose that person to acknowledge.
Northern Grampians Shire mayor Karen Hyslop encouraged people to submit works of art showcasing a woman they admire.
"We are inviting all members of the public, of any age, to tell us about a woman or girl they admire, and why," she said.
"This person might be a member of your family, someone in your community, a historical figure, a public figure - anyone at all."
The artwork will be launched during International Women's Day activities in Stawell on March 12, with the exhibition remaining on display until March 24.
Northern Grampians Shire Deputy Mayor Justine Hide said."We really encourage people to enter and make this exhibition a tribute to the women in your life and the community.
All entries must be submitted at Stawell Library by March 5.

International Women's Day (IWD) has been observed for over a hundred years, bringing attention to the challenges women face in the community.
Many of the issues still impact women's advancement in communities around the world today.
Since 1911, IWD has been used to celebrate all who care about women's equality and achievements.
"Thirty years ago, in 1995, people from every part of the world committed to achieving gender equality when the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action was adopted by 189 governments and endorsed by thousands of activists," Cr Hyslop said.
"The Platform for Action provides a roadmap towards achieving equal rights and opportunities for women and girls everywhere.

Council staff is organising an International Women's Day event at St Arnaud on Thursday, March 6.
"Northern Grampians Shire Council will also be holding events across the municipality in the coming weeks and details will be available on the council's Facebook page," Cr Hide said.
