Another great option for a haircut

A new business has popped up in Stawell with a beautifully simplistic mission – They simply cut hair. No colours or other chemical-based processes, just haircuts, and for locals who often find themselves struggling to get a spot in a hairdresser’s chair in a timely fashion, the arrival of Hair @ Studio 2a is a welcome one.

Experienced hairdresser Eleisha Clementson is a familiar face in town, and she’s excited to be back on the tools after eight years away from the caper.

“I have had a hairdressing business in town before, I used to own Haircutters Workshop, and I’ve also had my own salon at home,” Eleisha said.

Hearing a steady stream of stories from people who had travelled for haircuts because they struggled to get appointments in Stawell, gave Eleisha the confidence to have another tilt at hairdressing.

“I knew that there was a huge need for haircuts around town, lots of friends and family had said that people were heading out of town because they couldn’t get a haircut in town,” she said.

The exciting new business is located at 2A Patrick Street and currently operates Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, with more open days in the pipeline once the business has settled into a steady routine.

The space itself is warm, comfortable and inviting, and there’s plenty of carparks nearby, making it a convenient spot to get a quick trim or a stylish new cut.

Eleisha’s passion for hairdressing has always burned brightly, and when asked about her first foray into hairdressing, she was laughing recalling the memories.

“Cutting Barbie dolls hair,” she said with a chuckle.

“I’ve always loved doing hair, always, so I used to do my sister’s hair all the time when we were little, my Barbie dolls had spikes, I absolutely loved it.

“I started my apprenticeship in ’94, that was at Salon 74 in Main Street with Geraldine Carey.”
