Group Two was the contest to watch this week.
New to the David O. Jones Mitre10 Stawell Tennis Club, Jake McConville proved that he will be a force to be reckoned with, taking the honours for the night on 17 games.
Dart Walls (Betta Home Living) and Rem Schroeder (Bemic) were not far off the pace on 15 games.
Group Three was also an enthralling contest with only one game separating the top three players.
Marcelo and Mark Howie both stepped up to the plate for their first hit out in years and can be expected to improve enormously as the season progresses.
Mark (Mitre10) finished on top with 14 games while Macrcelo finished the night with 13 games.
Maryanne Jess used all her guile and experience to stay right with the guys, also winning 13 games in her three sets.
At the conclusion of two rounds, Dave Coe tops the aggregate ladder on 35 games, closely followed by Paul Krellie on 34 games.
Dart Walls (26 games), Jacob Reid (25 games) and Rem Schroeder (25 games) have plenty of ground to make up before the Christmas break.
