Linda Meech will miss the majority of Melbourne Cup Week after incurring careless riding suspensions at The Valley on Cox Plate Day on Saturday.
Meech and rival jockey Daniel Moor received sanctions for their rides in the $300,000 Group Two Moonee Valley Fillies Classic (1600 metres) where they caused interference to each other.

Meech was penalised for shifting ground aboard Native Girl with 50 metres remaining in her ride.
After the race, Moor was penalised for shifting ground at the 900-metre mark while riding Fortunate Kiss.
As punishment, Meech and Moor were suspended for eight meetings, with the sanctions to begin after next Saturday's Penfolds Victoria Derby Day fixture at Flemington, which includes four Group One events.

That means Meech and Moor will miss the remainder of Melbourne Cup Week before returning to the track on Sunday, November 7.
Later on Cox Plate Day, Meech was beaten by half a head as the her and Moor battled aboard Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young-trained three-year-olds Forgot You and Commander Harry, with Moor and Forgot You the victors.
So far in the spring season, Meech has enjoyed her fair share of success, riding seven Melbourne winners.
