A talented Stawell Warriors junior netballer has earnt the opportunity to participate in the Netball Victoria talent academy trials after some impressive performances in 2021.

AFL Wimmera Mallee shared the news on Friday October 22, with Peters to be joined at the trials by five other junior netball stars from the Wimmera.
The invitation to the trials caps off an impressive year for the speedy mid-courter, which included representative honours for the WFNL interleague and a top-five finish in the 2021 WFNL 15 and Under best and fairest.
In the 15 and Under vote count, Peters polled 16 votes, enough to finish in fourth place overall.
Ruby Peters, who was in the 15 and Under squad, was selected to compete in the Championships in 2020 before COVID-19 again got in the way.

Peters' Under-15 WFNL team finished runners-up during the Golden City Tournament.
At the time Peters' said she loved the chance to be involved in the Wimmera netball squad.
"I was excited and I was very nervous though, but I was mostly excited," she said
"We got chosen by our coach and we had to try-out for the squad in Horsham.
"We had our squad slowly cut down until they decided on the final team.
"We train together once a week every week in Horsham and I think playing with some of the best girls in the league has been a good experience."

The Wimmera Mallee region falls under the Northern Zone of Netball Victoria TID program, with trials to be held on November 28 at the Bendigo Stadium from 8:30am-4:30pm.
Peters selection for the trials means she joins a group of talented Warriors netballers who have participated in the Netball Victoria program Madi Taylor, Tessa O'Callaghan and Dakota Cosson pathing the way before her.
Joining Peters at the Bendigo trials will be Ada Binney (Pimpinio) and Jarrah Martin (Kalkee) from the HDFNL and WFNL competitors Eva Manserra (Horsham), Jorja Clode and Sophie Taylor (Horsham Saints).
Netball Victoria conducts Talent Identification (TID) during Netball Victoria competitions and tournaments, with talent scouts assessing athletes to be considered for invitation to trial for the Netball Victoria Talent Academy and state 17 and Under and 19 and Under programs.
