The wait for the return of community cricket to the Wimmera is almost over, with plans taking shape for the 2021-22 season.

The Grampians Cricket Association have released a message to all clubs outlining their estimated plans for the season ahead.
They said at a board meeting held in October, a decision was made to plan to commence the 2021-22 GCA season for Seniors on Saturday, November 6.
The statement said the circumstances around community sport are "moving forward quickly", with the selected start date still pending Victorian Government restrictions.

In the A Grade competition each team will play five 20-20 matches across the first three weeks.
In the first couple of rounds with 20-20 matches, they are to start at 12pm, with multiple rounds to be played in the one day.
In the first three weeks, there will be one week where teams will only play the one match for the day.
The league said this is the most likely and earliest date they will be able to start the season.

The league have sent copies of the 2021-22 fixture around to each of the clubs for them to view.
Grampians Cricket Association also said they have recieved no confirmation regarding the COVID-19 vaccination of players for the 2021-22 season.
"We still have no confirmation around the vaccination status of players, volunteers, supporters and others," they said.
"As we have said previously this will not be a decision that the GCA makes, we will be following the guidelines set for us from Cricket Victoria and Cricket Australia."
The season fixtures for the junior cricket divisions are yet to be decided, but a meeting will be held later in October to discuss the starting date and set up of this upcoming season.
The league also advised clubs, officials Travis Nicholson and Brett Chammings will be in contact with junior clubs if they have not been already.
