Questions have been raised regarding the QR code checking-in process in Victoria, with some highlighting the requirement to check-in but not the need to check-out.

A Services Victoria QR line spokesperson said there is not official check-out time recorded, but contact tracers have alternative methods for establishing a timeline.
"When you check-in via the services Victoria app, your name and contact details are recorded," they said
"If the location you visited becomes a known COVID-19 exposure site, the Victorian Department of Health contact tracing teams will speak with you directly about the timing of your visit.

"Contact tracers may also use other information such as shopping receipts or bank transfer records to help determine where you have been and how long you have been there for.
"There are always bringing out new features and so we could see changes, but we are not 100 per cent sure (if a check out could be used)."
In Victoria there are almost 1000 COVID-19 exposure sites, or places listed where a positive COVID-19 case has attended a venue.
A number of these exposure sites are in regional and rural areas after particular outbreaks.
The QR code system works to notify individuals who have attended a venue at the same time as a positive COVID-19 case.
Should our QR code system have a uniform check-out system to help our contact tracers?
