A range of rock, metal, punk, grunge and funk music will be on display at Barneypalooza on Saturday, January 19.
The event will showcase four bands from across the state and one from the region at Pomonal’s Barney's Bar & Bistro on the night.
Glenn Dallinger is part of band The Norchy Springer that will play on the night while also playing a key role in organising the event.
He said the idea behind the event is to bring some variety of music to the region.
“There’s always plenty of DJs and cover bands around so we wanted to provide something different to people in the area,” he said.
“We have found a lot of young people around here like the type of music we will be presenting on the night so it should be a great occasion.”
The event will run from 8pm until 1am with tickets available for $10 presale or $15 at the door.
Mr Dallinger said a successful event could open the door for similar ones in the future.
“Any heavy alternative band starts on a small scale so it will be a good chance for more people to have a listen,” he said.
“It is something that is quite different so hopefully we see a fair few people come down and support it.”
