Australia Zoo, in partnership with Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort, will run an expedition to the Great Barrier Reef and the Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve on Wenlock Island in Far North Queensland.
The 10-day ‘Coral, Crocs and Rocks’ expedition will allow participants to get up close and personal with some of the most amazing natural wonders of the world, including the World-Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef and the ‘misunderstood’ apex predator, the saltwater crocodile.
Lady Elliot Island is the southernmost coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef. Dive into some of the clearest waters on the reef and you’re likely to see manta rays swimming in unison and colourful fish among the coral.
On Steve Irwin Wildlife Reserve participants can become part of a team that catches, tags and releases crocs.
Also, from Weipa, guests will be flown to Cobbold Gorge, a place where the geological landforms date back more than 135 million years, and to Undara Lava Tubes Lodge.
Prices start at $7990 per person twin-share.

Africa’s ‘Big Five’ — lion, leopard, elephant, black rhinoceros and African buffalo — was originally a term coined by big-game hunters, but these days the hunt is usually only by camera and binoculars.
Sanctuary Retreats offers a range of safari experiences in this regard, including at Tanzania’s Serengeti National Park, a classic safari destination and one of only a handful with populations of all five species.
Lying in a high plateau between the Ngorongoro highlands in northern Tanzania and the Masai Mara Reserve in neighboring Kenya, Serengeti National Park is considered one of the best places to safari for one very specific reason — the Great Migration.
This annual event sees hundreds of thousands of wildebeest and zebra pass through the park in search of food — and with the herds of grazers, come the predators.
A stay at Kichikani Serengeti Camp is priced from about $765 per person twin-share per night and moves between three different locations, with significant discounts for stays of three nights or more.
On The Go Tours has added group departures to its 31-day ‘World Wonders’ tour, which takes in five continents and visits the new Seven Wonders of the World and the last remaining of the ancient wonders, the Pyramids of Giza.
Kicking off this month-long adventure is Rome and a trip to the ancient Colosseum before flying to Cairo to marvel at the Pyramids of Giza.
The archaeological wonders continue, with a quick flight to Jordan to walk through the Siq to arrive at the Rose City of Petra. The next country on the agenda is India, visiting the Taj Mahal, the world’s greatest tribute to love, at sunset. After guided touring of Old and New Delhi, the group will jet off to Beijing to walk along the Great Wall of China.
Travellers then leave behind Asia for Latin America, landing in Mexico to spend a day exploring the Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza. The group then heads south to Peru to take the scenic train journey to arrive at the astonishing Machu Picchu. The final stop on the tour is Rio de Janeiro to look down at the amazing views of this extraordinary city from where Christ the Redeemer stands.
Prices start at $13,495 per person twin-share.
