AFTER more than six weeks away from competitive swimming Ararat hosted the first Wimmera District 12 meet of the year in perfect conditions on Saturday.

Clubs from Ararat, St Arnaud, Stawell, Horsham, Warracknabeal, Ballarat and the Grampians were represented at the meet by 120 swimmers in total.
Ararat came out on top in the medal tally will 35 gold, 33 silver and 25 bronze.
St Arnaud managed 30 gold, 15 silver and 18 bronze while Horsham won 25 gold, 20 silver and six bronze.
Ararat Swimming Club committee member Ainsley Cameron said it was great to see so many people at the pool.
“Conditions could have hardly been better,” she said.
Horsham’s Matt Ough, representing the Ballarat Swimming Club, took out the Innes Collum Trophy for the fastest time in the male 100-metres breaststroke.
Warracknabeal’s Keshia Roche took out the female Innes Collum Trophy for here time in the 100-metre breaststroke.
