A woman has died after a car she was travelling in crashed into a tree at Halls Gap earlier this morning.

The woman was a passenger in the Hyundai sedan car, which was travelling north-west on the Ararat Halls Gap Road about 6.30am, about 2km south east of Grampians Road.
The woman was in the rear passenger seat and died at the scene.
A man, also seated in the rear passenger seat, was airlifted from the scene with serious injuries.
The male driver and male front seat passenger were transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Fourteen lives have now been lost already in 2018, only 27 days in. Last year at the same time it was 15.
