Sailors gathered at Ballarat’s Lake Wendouree on Saturday before moving to Lake Fyans on Sunday.
It was the second consecutive win for Ballarat after coming away victorious in last year’s inaugural event.
Ballarat dominated across all races on Saturday and Sunday, winning three of four races.
Horsham Yacht Club’s Steve Marcroft sailed for a combined Stawell and Horsham contingent to take out the other race convincingly.
Stawell Yacht Club commodre Johno Knight said it was a great weekend of sailing.
“There would have been about 16 or 17 boats all up,” he said.
“It was a good weekend for all – everyone enjoyed it.”
Knight said while it was disappointing for his club to see Ballarat come away with the win again, they had the numbers in their favour.
“Ballarat always tend to have more boats on the water, giving them a better chance at winning,” he said.
“We were pretty happy with the way we competed. In one race we found ourselves in second going towards the buoy but we were in last by the end of it.”
Knight said conditions were mixed throughout the two days.
“Winds were fairly strong and a couple of sailors had a swim when they were tipped over,” he said.
“If you were in the right spot at the right time you would go really well, but there were also a few dead spots.”
