The ‘Battle of the Divide’ will be the first game of 2018 which commences on March 30.
It will be an unusual situation for Ararat and Stawell, with the remainder of the round one matches not commencing until Saturday, April 21.
New Warriors president Tim Williams said it will be an issue the club deals with when it comes around.
“That first game against Ararat might be a little bit like a practice game being so far out from our next match,” he said.
“It is something we will have to prepare for early but it does not phase us too much.”
The Warriors received a friendly fixture, playing Ararat and Nhill three times throughout the season.
The Rats and Tigers won just three games each in 2017, finishing in sixth and seventh place respectively.
Williams said other than the tricky first round he had no issues with the draw.
“I thought it was pretty good for us,” he said.
“Overall we are pretty happy with what we have been given.”
