The Grasshoppers were set the difficult task of chasing Aradale’s first innings score of 280, and did not get off to a good start when Phil Hall was dismissed for just one run.
They looked in good shape when Jesse Hannett (86) worked with Navarre’s top order to take them past 150.
Captain Tom Hannett (43), Raam Gowriswaran (29) and Aaron Slorach (37) all contributed in the middle order.
Sitting at 5-211 and trailing by just 69 runs, Navarre dared to dream to defeat the 2016-17 runners up.
The Grasshoppers’ bottom order was unable to hold on, losing six wickets for just 11 runs to fall short by 58 runs.
Brent Tate took five wickets to rip through Navarre's batting order, while Travis Horvatek contributed with three of his own.
The win sees Aradale move into the top four of the A Grade ladder, level on points with Swifts-Great Western.
