The mixed martial artist will be searching to end the year on a high when he takes on three-time world kickboxing champion Ben Edwards in Canberra.
Edwards and ‘The Answer’ will headline Monaro Fight Circuit 26 at the Rex Hotel, competing in the heavyweight main event.
We have a precise game plan, I just have to execute it
- Jeremy Joiner
‘The Answer’ suffered the first defeat of his professional career at Diamondback Fighting Championship 4 in Adelaide in October.
Joiner said despite coming off a loss he is feeling ready to go.
“I didn’t take any damage so recovery has been good – if anything I feel refreshed,” he said.
“I had no intention of fighting again this year but this challenge was too much for me to ignore. I haven’t turned down a fight yet and I don’t plan on starting now.”
Joiner said his opponent serves up a different challenge than anyone he has fought before.
“He's had over 60 kickboxing fights won nearly 50 of them.”
“I’m fighting a completely different fighter, going from a grappler to a striker so everything is different.
“We have a precise game plan, I just have to execute it.”
Friday will be Joiner’s fourth fight of 2017, his busiest year of his career so far.
“This will be it for the year,” he said.
“It has been a long year and I'll be going on holidays after this.”
The fight will not be broadcast.
