Jake Magee placed third in the final round of the USA criterium series in Reading, Pennsylvania.
Magee is a member of the long-standing Texas Roadhouse Criterium squad.
He and his five teammates began the race on the front foot with current American champion Daniel Holloway getting into the early breakaway.
After a flurry of attacks to bridge to the leading group, the race was once again all back together.
With 15 laps remaining, Magee put himself into a late race breakaway containing fellow Australian Joe Lewis and four other competitors.
The six-rider group worked well to maintain the gap over the main field until the final two laps, with tactics playing a huge part.
The eventual race winner, Shane Klein from the Rally pro cycling squad, was attacking the group inside the last lap to win solo with Lewis second and Magee placing third.
"It's great to be able to represent the team on the podium,” Magee said.
“It's also nice for me personally, after a tough last few months of injury.”
Magee returns home to Horsham in late October for a well earned rest.
He said he would complete his pre-season training from December through to March.
