The under-13 Warriors took on the Demons at Warracknabeal on Saturday with the winner set to advance straight to the grand final.
Stawell looked composed in a see-sawing game, holding a two-goal lead going into the final quarter.
The Demons put in their best quarter of the game in the final term, outscoring the Warriors by five goals to come away with a 34-31 win.
Defender Molly Orr was named best on court for Stawell.
The loss sees Stawell matched up against the Horsham Saints in the preliminary final next weekend.
The under-15 game at Ararat on Sunday was just as close, with the result very similar.
The Demons came away with a 36-31 victory, ending the year for the under-15 Warriors.
Stawell and Horsham appeared to be evenly matched, going goal for goal to have the scores level at 10-10 at quarter-time.
A 12-goal to six second quarter for Horsham proved to be the difference in the game, with the both side’s scoring six goals each in the third term while the Warriors won the final quarter by one-goal. Tessa O’Callaghan was named best on court for Stawell for her role playing through the mid court.
