Lloyd was one of Sydney’s best in a big 65-point win. He collected 25 disposals, laid seven tackles and chipped in with a goal. He is the only one of ten Wimmera footballers to be taking part in AFL finals action this season.
Kyle Cheney is unlikely to feature in Adelaide’s finals campaign having not played a game this season due largely to injury setbacks early in the season. Edenhope’s Tom and Oscar McDonald narrowly missed out on the top eight by percentage with the Melbourne Football Club. Former Horsham footballer Seb Ross’ St Kilda side finished one win out side of the top eight.
Darcy Tucker finished the season 14th on the ladder with Fremantle. First-year player Tom Williamson’s Carlton side finished 16th. Matt Rosa and the Gold Coast Suns were 17th, while Michael Close and Jarrod Berry were 18th with the Brisbane Lions.
