The Grasshoppers finished at the top of the Maryborough Castlemaine District Football ladder, earning a double chance final. A win will see the Grasshoppers receive a week off and move straight to the preliminary final.
Navarre last finals defeat was in 2013, when they suffered a qualifying finals loss to Newstead before going on to win its first of four consecutive premierships.
Harcourt and Navarre have played their only game against each other back in round two, where the Grasshoppers easily dealt with the Lions by 92 points.
Harcourt have improved significantly since that loss, moving into the top four and claiming the big scalp of Carisbrook along the way.
Navarre coach Jayden Fowkes said the opposition could be a “finals dark horse”.
“They are hitting their form at the right time, so we know that it won’t be a pushover,” he said.
“Finals is a different brand of football and you never really know what to expect.
“It has been a good season so far for us so it is good to be back playing finals again.”
Navarre will be waiting on tests to see if Lachlan Slorach and Billy Parry will be fit for the match.
The first qualifying final will be played at Princes Park on Saturday, August 26 at 2.35pm.
