Horsham Wimmera Kennel Club hosted the two-day show at the Horsham Showground.
Club secretary Tiffany Evans said there were 355 dogs in the competition on Saturday and a few less on the Sunday.
Competitors came to Horsham from all over the country.
“We had people from as far as Perth and Queensland,” Ms Evans said.
“The only states not represented were Northern Territory and Tasmania. One man bought six dogs from Broken Hill, which was a fair effort.”
Ms Evans said there was a group of about 50 people who came every year.
“They are here year in, year out, and it’s wonderful because it’s like a little family,” she said. “Overall we received good reports from the weekend.”
The Horsham junior fire brigade supported the event, catering for the judges and selling food to spectators.
“We couldn’t have done it without them and they were able to raise some money as well,” Ms Evans said.
She said the club desperately needed more active volunteers to ensure the show continued to run.
“It is all done by only two of us and it can’t continue that way,” she said.
“There is lots of people from Horsham and Natimuk who enter the show and we need those people to put up their hands.
“The show won’t run next year if we don’t get more members.”
