Police search for missing disabled man

Police are searching for a missing disabled man who could be heading towards Ballarat.

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate missing Ararat’s Matthew Glare.

The 27-year-old was last seen at a Blackie Avenue address just after 2pm on Sunday.

Police and family have concerns for his welfare as he has a mild intellectual disability.

Investigators believe Matthew does not have a mobile phone and may be headed to Ballarat.

Matthew is described as Caucasian in appearance with brown hair, brown eyes and wears glasses.

He was last seen wearing a dark coloured Grampians Giants football club hooded jumper with an orange logo and dark coloured track pants.

Police have released an image of Matthew in the hope someone recognises him and can provide information regarding his current whereabouts.

Anyone who sees Matthew is asked to contact Ararat Police Station on 5355 1500.
