The Demons will welcome a host of players back to the fold in round 11 but coach Louie Dalziel said they will likely have to find their way back into the senior team via the reserves.

“It will be a bit of a quandary at the selection table this week,” he said. “But it is a great position to be in, much better than if you get to this point of the season and have to ring around to field teams.”

The side’s strong defensive pressure has been a cornerstone of its game through the first 10 rounds and it will again be pivotal against Nhill.

Horsham prevailed in a tough round four encounter earlier in the season and Dalziel expected much the same approach from his opposition. “They like to a play a bit of keep-off,” he said. “That means we have to be good at sticking to our structures while also being able to apply pressure to their ball carriers.”

Jake Harrap was dangerous on his way to kicking four goals in the round four encounter. He will again be important alongside of Billy Hayes. “You’ve got to pay attention and respect to the opposition,” Dalziel said. “If you don’t players will get away from you.”

Tom Driscoll will come into the senior Horsham time for the first time this season. “He is coming in after some injury setbacks in recent times,” Dalziel said.

“I expect him to play a big role for us. He’s tall, has a good leap and a great set of hands so he can play in a number of key positions.”
