Both sides dropped one game in the home and away season.
The Saints went down by five points against the Kangaroos in round five, before the Hamilton side came up short against Portland the following week.
Prior to the season the Saints won a practice match between the sides.
Saints vice-captain Coco Ledger said the whole team was pumped for the weekend’s match.
“All the girls have been working really hard to get to this point,” she said.
“Everyone has put in the hard yards to make the grand final and it’s a great opportunity for the girls.”
The side boasts some of the best players in the league who will be in contention for awards presented after the grand final.
Ledger and Tara Jasper have performed consistently throughout the season and have been well supported as the team has continued to develop.
The side will also be boosted by the inclusion of Vic Country’s Rene Caris.
“When we all play our own game then we hold our own,” Ledger said.
“I think we all have a big impact on the game in our own different way.
“If we’re all switched on then that will be key.”
Coach Mat Taylor has bee impressed by his side each week.
“It’s a good reward for all the work they have done,” he said.
“They just have to beat them in their heads first and then we have a few tricks up our sleeves from last time we played Hamilton, I think that will be instrumental.”
He said the season had been full of firsts.
“Last time we played Hamilton it was the first time we had 18 on the field, the first time we had had a bench,” he said.
“Every week has been the first of something.
“We are primed for the biggest game of the year and we couldn’t be in a better position than where we are now.”
For a handful of players in the Saints side, including Ledger, it will be their last opportunity to pull on the club’s jumper in the youth league.
“Just to pull on this jumper for one last time with the Saints, all the girls will love that,” Ledger said.
“The bond we have as a team is crazy and we will just go out there to have fun.”
The game will conclude a big day of football at Mellville Oval in Hamilton with the first bounce set for 2.30pm.
