Performances included a variety of music on piano, trumpet, guitar, harmonica and voice and included classical and traditional tunes.
Director Dianne Stewart said the Take the Stage series provided a performance opportunity for people in the area, students and adults alike.
“The theme helps to encourage a variety of styles to be performed across the year,” she said.
“This is the first year SPACi has put on these events and it is intended that there will be three to four events each year with varying themes.”
The next show in the Take the Stage series will focus on jazz, blues, soul and spirituals on Friday, October 20.
“It is hoped to have music, both vocal and instrumental to spoken word, comic or poetry and even dance,” Ms Stewart said.
“Young performers can join along with adults of every ability level.”
