The illness affects one in 250 people aged 5–49 nationally, with Australia recording one of the highest rates of prevalence and incidence in the world.
Stawell branch CWA treasurer Jess Cass said the group’s scone drive was hugely successful.
“The scone drive involved members taking orders for bags of plain or date scones, collecting money and then the entire branch coming together as a group to freshly make the scones before delivering them to those that had ordered,” she said.
“It was a great result and enabled us to do our part and donate this money to help support those people who have suffered or are suffering from Inflammatory Bowel Disease.”
