The donation allowed the acquisition of a new laparoscopic rigid telescope, used in general and gynaecological surgery.
The telescope is attached to the camera, allowing the abdomen be viewed on a screen to perform the surgery.
Stawell Hospital Auxiliary member Ruth Hatton said the group regularly consulted with hospital management with regards to their “wish list” of items the Auxiliary could fund.
“With this in mind the Auxiliary recently approached Stawell Lions Club asking for a contribution to assist,” she said.
“Lions Club members responded with a very generous donation.”
The donation also allowed for the purchase of an Ear Nose Throat instrument for nasal surgery.
