The Oliver’s Real Food chain will open its 11th Victorian store in Horsham in the second half of July.
Oliver’s business development manager Mark Patterson said the company would soon have construction and refitting crews at the former Red Rooster site.
“We’re in the business of providing fresh, natural and organic fast food to the travellers of Australia,” he said.
“Our business model it to provide a healthier alternative to people on the highway.
“That often brings us into country towns like Horsham, where we will be happy to serve to local community as well.”
The former Red Rooster site has stood empty since 2012 and Mr Patterson said Oliver’s took up the lease some time ago while the company built up its distribution network.
A new store in Ballarat will form part of a non-frozen food supply chain from the company’s production centre in Melbourne.
“I’m not afraid to mention McDonald’s, they’ve got their place in the world and they do a fine job of it,” Mr Patterson said.
“There’s a whole new group who are more thoughtful about what they eat and we are in the business of providing for those people who understand the importance of nutrition.”
Mr Patterson said the company wanted to hear from people in the Wimmera who were passionate about organic food and interested in working at the outlet.
