There’s some excitement in the air in the small town of Pomonal. It has rained, the dust has settled and the Pomonal Village Market is on again this Sunday.

Market coordinator Alison Bainbridge said this market was going to be one of the biggest ever, with more than 40 stalls to sell an array of goods including many local products.
The stall will be both inside the new hall and the surrounds. Ms Bainbridge said a team of locals had recently planted and mulched the hall’s garden. She said the gardens were planted with mostly low-growing natives that were propagated by the local Australian Plants Society or donated by local nurseries.
She said there would be lots of plants of all descriptions ready for autumn planting, books, jewellery, preserves, clothing, chickens, garden ornaments, craft, bric a brac, the Pomonal Community table and more.
Visitors can enjoy morning teas and light lunches on the veranda or wander with a sausage or vegetable burger from the CFA barbecue.
New comers Pomonal Estate offering will include local wine and hand-crafted beer of their own. Organic fruit and vegetable man, Phil O’Connor will also make a return with lots of fresh root vegetables just right for the cooler months’ hearty soups and casseroles.
The market will run on Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Money raised will be returned to the Pomonal community through the Pomonal Progress Association.
