Ms Beagley takes the reins on May 22 after working as the director, mental health and drugs in the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and in senior executive roles at Austin Health and Eastern Health.
The primary care network has offices at Horsham, Geelong, Ballarat and Warrnambool. Ms Beagley will be based at Geelong.
“The board is confident that using her extensive experience in the health sector, Leanne will lead Western Victoria PHN to achieve its two key objectives, which are to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of health and medical services for patients, particularly those at risk of poor health outcomes; and co-ordination of care to ensure patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time,” board chairwoman Lynne McLennan said.
