Two of the biggest clubs in the Wimmera Football League and Wimmera Netball Association will have the honour of doing so at Horsham City Oval on Tuesday.
It is something that is not taken for granted by those at the Horsham Demons and Horsham Saints.
Demons A Grade netball coach Pauline Butler said it was a special day that meant so much to everyone.
“To be able to play at City Oval on Anzac Day is a privilege,” she said.
Her thoughts were echoed by the respective senior football coaches.
Saints coach Luke Fisher described it as an honour.
“It’s a special privilege knowing all the sacrifices our servicemen and women have made for all of us,” he said.
Demons coach Louie Dalziel said the significance went without saying.
“All the boys know the history,” he said. “We don’t need to touch on it to much other than to talk about the leadership.”
