First Constable Carl Burmester said police received two reports of vandalism. 

He said trees were snapped at the base in three locations on Seaby Street, Stawell and four locations on Shirreff Street, Stawell. 

First Constable Burmester said trees in a garden bed behind the Amcal pharmacy had also been removed. 

He said the Shirreff and Seaby Street trees were seen in good condition on Thursday and found damaged on Sunday.

The trees behind the chemist were found removed on Tuesday. 

First Constable Burmester said it was a blatant case of vandalism, with the damages costing about $1200. 

He said it was a disappointing end to the Easter festivities.

“Perpetrators will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law,” he said.

First Constable Burmester said once caught those guilty would face criminal damage charges. 

He asked for anyone with information or CCTV in the area to contact him at the Stawell Police Station or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000. 

Meanwhile, Dimboola police have called for help to identify the driver of an erratic vehicle. 

Senior Constable Neil Zippel said a white ford sedan covered with blue graffiti was seen hooning around Dimboola on Friday between 7am and 9am. 

Senior Constable Zippel said the car was doing “wheelies”, and left marks on roads around town. 

He said the vehicle had since been located but it was imperative people came forward if they could help identify the driver.
