Horsham firefighters will be joined by friends and family, State Emergency Service volunteers, and firefighters from Vectis and Jung as they rattle tins for the Royal Children’s Hospital fundraiser.
Horsham appeal co-ordinator Stephen Carman said the collectors had a goal in mind.
“We try to collect a bit more money each year, which we usually do,” he said.
“We’ll be walking behind the fire trucks, using the sirens to let people know we are outside.
“Every little bit of money helps.”
The collectors will be out from 9.30am on Good Friday until the early afternoon and there will also be traffic light collectors at the Baillie Street intersection near KFC.
“If you miss us, you can come down to Horsham Fire Station and donate there,” Mr Carman said.
Horsham Fire Brigade Captain John St Clair said he expected between 50 and 60 people to join the main collection group walking the streets of Horsham.
Good Friday Appeal groups across the Wimmera were able to raise a total of almost $260,000 during last year’s collection drive.
