The hay run raised awareness for drought stricken farmers across the nation.
St Arnaud’s Troy Hendy who drove the first truck said he was impressed with the amount of people willing to support the cause.
“Drought is very close to all our hearts and what we are doing is helping all those families and friends in desperate need,” he said
“It has been a busy time for farmers down south, they have had a good harvest and it is amazing to see they are donating all this time, equipment and hay.”
This year’s hay run was Mr Hendy’s third.
“So far we have 120 trucks and looking forward to seeing more join in as we reach our destination, I just love doing this and seeing the reaction and support it receives,” he said.
Mr Hendy said the trucks were estimated to arrive in Muttuburra on Saturday afternoon.
