The Gold team did not lose a rink in the match at Aradale Bowling Club and sets up an all-Stawell decider.
The first rink finished in a draw after Dulcie Molan and Ellen Werry both finished with 26 shots.
The second rink was another close match with neither team putting the match beyond doubt until Gold’s Joy Seeary grabbed the momentum in the final ends to finish 27 shots to 24 winners against Dawn Blackman.
Gold’s Denise Troeth made sure Gold claimed the win with a comfortable victory in the final rink.
Stawell Golf Purple’s Ruth Hatton was unable to stop Troeth as the momentum was too much with Gold winning the rink by 16 shots in the 32-16 win.
The win means the two Stawell teams will play on their home green with the club’s bragging rights up for grabs in the decider on Monday at Stawell Bowling Club.
The two teams faced each other just once during the season with the Gold team winning all the rinks against the Blue team in the round eight match.
Stawell Gold's Ellen Werry said the previous results would not mean anything to the team.
“Finals are always different compared to regular season games,” she said.
“It will just depend on everyone's individual performance on the day as to who wins.”
A Stawell team has won two of the past three midweek grand finals in the division.
Werry said that experience will be valuable on Monday.
“We have been quite fortunate to usually be in the grand final and win it more than most,” she said.
“So the experience will help the players to handle the pressure during the game.”
Stawell Blue’s Kerry West said she is confident the team will match up well with the Gold team.
"The fact we are both in the final means we are both fairly even,” she said.
The Blue team had the week off on Monday but West said she does not expect it to matter.
"There has been a few tournaments around, so we should not have lost our touch with the week off last week,” she said.
Werry said she expects an aggressive game. “It will have to be, that is how you win a grand final,” she said.
