Stawell Golf Red are a step closer to winning the title after it defeated Aradale Red 74-61 in the Grampians Bowls Division pennant final on Saturday.

Stawell Golf’s Brian Adamson was the only player to lose a rink to Aradale after he lost 17-29 to B Sladdin.
Gary Blackman and Bruce Blenheim both had comfortable wins in the other two rinks to give their team a week off.
Stawell was able to keep its season alive when it won by 16 shots against Chalambar in the division one elimination final.
The damage was done when Donny Austerberry won his rink by 11 shots and Chalambar struggled to recover from there.
Andrew Cray won his rink by five shots with the third rink finishing in a 27-all draw.
Ararat Gold had one of its best wins of the season when it claimed the honours against minor premiers Stawell Blue in the division two final.
B Gill got the Ararat team off to a positive start with a 16-shot win in the first rink to put Stawell in a tough position early in the match.
Stawell Blue’s Ellen Werry brought the margin back to eight after her rink win but it was not enough as Ararat Gold finished 79-60 winners to progress straight through to the grand final.
Ararat Blue knocked cross town rivals Ararat VRI Red out of the competition after it won the elimination final 81-69.
The Blue team won two of the three rinks with Kevin Izard the only player not to win his rink, going down by 11 shots.
The loss did not matter with the other two rinks decided comfortably for Blue.
