The Combine dominated the one-day, away match, to remain on top of both Grampians association ladders and without a loss to their name.
Their 45 yielded 186 runs for the loss of only five wickets, as every batsman found a way to get a start in the game.
Travis Nicholson’s 33-run innings was best, although James Devery, 32, and Tom Eckel, 31 also made valuable contributions.
No batsman was able to take their score beyond the 30s, but with everyone contributing strong starts, it was enough to secure victory.
Sam Cocks joined Devery to open the innings and the pair built a strong foundation to start.
The pair took Swifts-Great Western to 0-37 before Cocks was bowled on 21.
His innings included three fours, the most of any Combine batsmen apart from Jackson Dark, who also found the boundary three times.
Dark was also the next wicket to fall, racing to 25 runs before he was bowled to put the Combine at 2-81.
Twenty-one runs later Devery followed him, finally dismissed for a hard earned 32.
Although wickets continued to fall at regular intervals, the run rate kept moving as the Swifts-Great Western batsmen proved too hard to contain.
Eckel was then dismissed lbw, before Rick Peters was the last to be dismissed when the side was on 167.
Nic Clough, 12, and Nicholson finished the innings with their wickets intact and Swifts-Great Western at 5-186.
In reply Tatyoon only mustered 90 runs as it was bowled out in 26.3 overs.
Like with the bat, the Combine’s bowlers spread the work load across five separate wicket takers.
Marc Brilliant’s 2-27 from nine overs included two maidens and no extras.
The impressive performance made life difficult for the Tatyoon batsmen.
Jayden McCartney was another standout with the bowl
He took 3-27 from seven overs, giving him the best figures for the afternoon.
Dark took 2-14, Peters 2-1 and Jonathon Parkin 1-4 from three balls.
Nicholson’s effort with the bat was his first score higher than 30 for the 2016-17 season.
It could be a timely run into form for the Combine batsman.
When matched with Devery, who has amassed 188 runs for the season, and Eckel, who has 193, Swifts-Great Western’s middle order is looking solid as finals draw near.
They are joined by the mercurial Dark, who has made a string of single figure scores since round four, but also showed an ability to dominant with a big 169-run stand against Tatyoon in round three.
For Tatyoon the loss means it sits precariously just inside the top-four on the one-day ladder, one game ahead of Aradale and Halls Gap.
On the overall standings however, Tatyoon is now fifth, with Aradale one game ahead.
It is a different story for the Swifts-Great Western, which has a comfortable lead atop both ladders.
Eight wins, and one outright in the two-day format, puts the side 12 points ahead of Buangor in second on both ladders.
