Band secretary Russell Blachford said the band, which has been around for more than 150 years in one form or another, was a small group boasting members aged anywhere from over 18 to their 80s.
“Most bands have a Christmas book of more than 100 Christmas carols to choose from, but usually we are asked to perform the standards,” he said.
People attending the carols at Cato Park as part of the Christmas Festival will enjoy the sounds of the trombone, euphonium, bass tuba and drums and more in action.
The brass band is always on the look out for new members. 2017 is shaping up as an exciting year for the band as it hosts the Wimmera Bands Group Band Sunday, which includes a street march and Town Hall concert.
