The Wimmera Regional Sports Assembly run program saw the Commonwealth Agri-Business Comets fight for the win against the Hillross Hawks at May Park on Wednesday.
Hillross utilised all three players in the first two sets while the Comets opted for a rotation system, leaving players fresh on the bench.
The Hillross Hawks raced away with a 2-0 start as the Commonwealth Comets struggled to find its form.
The third and fourth set saw the Commonwealth Comets cement a comeback, finding its groove and delivering two crucial wins.
The Hillross Hawks gave its all in in the final round of the epic grand final battle but its powerful swings weren’t enough to take down the consistent Commonwealth Comets who pushed on to to become the 3-2 grand final champion.
In other games, Goolum Goolum Kubbers defeated Wimmera Uniting Care Wacky Wuccers, 2-1.
The CFA Crusaders managed a 2-1 win against the Meritum Finance Mavericks.
GWM Water-Grizzlies defeated Capitis Cobras 2-1 as the HRCC Building Department Hornets were knocked down by the HRCC Hurricanes, 2-1.
The WMT Wolves hold the wooden Kubb after a tough 2-1 loss against the WCMA Water Rats.
