Stawell resident Pat Browne has made a saddle by hand and donated it to Stawell Riding for the Disabled, despite suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

Mr Browne said he created the saddle over a 12-month period.
“I could not touch it for a few weeks sometimes because of my arthritis but I was thrilled to get there in the end,” he said.
“They do not make saddles by hand in Australia anymore so the quality in saddles has changed quite a bit.”
Stawell Riding for the Disabled president and coach Val McLean was thrilled to receive the donation.
“It saves us a considerable amount of money if we had to purchase one through our own funds,” she said.
“Anything we have to buy we need to raise funds for so we are extremely thankful.”
