The Bureau of Meteorology this morning issued a warning for much of Victoria, with wind gusts as high as 110km/h expected to hit in some parts tomorrow.
A cold front is expected to sweep the state in the morning, bringing with it potentially damaging winds.
Winds averaging 60 to 70km/h with peak gusts of around 90km/h are expected to develop across areas of western and central districts Thursday morning, with gusts reaching 110km/h in elevated areas.
These winds are expected to extend eastwards to eastern districts during the late morning on Thursday.
Locations which may be affected include Horsham, Warrnambool, Bendigo, Seymour, Maryborough, Ballarat, Geelong and Melbourne.
The State Emergency Service advises that people should:
- * Move vehicles under cover or away from trees;
- * Secure or put away loose items around your house, yard and balcony;
- * Keep clear of fallen power lines;
The next severe weather warning will be issued by 11am Wednesday.
