LADIES
THE Horsham Lady Hornets suffered a similar fate in the team’s clash against the Mount Gambier Lakers on Sunday.
It was a challenging game for the Hornets as the side battled for the win but fell just short 76-71.
A shot to level the game was missed with five seconds on the clock, sealing the Hornets’ loss.
Caitlin Story continued her form from Saturday’s clash against the Colac Kookas in the opening minutes.
She maintained her consistency throughout the match, shooting 22 points.
Lakers’ Rachael Hines caused the Hornets some trouble with 22 points of her own.
Hornets coach Gareth Hiscock said he was pleased with his team’s efforts.
“We played some of our best basketball for the season,” he said.
“Caitlin Story really stamped herself in the centre position. She was given the opportunity and she certainly took it. We had some defensive lapses in patches which ultimately cost us the game.” Hiscock said the team was in a good position at this point in the season.
