Inter Church secretary Mary Rita Thomas said there were many children and parents who experienced a difficult period at Christmas.
“We helped 220 people last year with the distribution of Christmas grocery shopping vouchers to 80 households,” she said.
The initiative also arranged for 85 children under the age of 13 to receive new toys and books.
“Christmas Giving Trees are located at Grampians Pharmacy, Stawell Medical Centre, Trackside Bar and Bistro, local churches and schools.
“The Cottage, 20 Sloane St Stawell is also open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10am-2.30pm.”
