Ararat White continued their early success with another convincing four set win to hold onto their top spot on the ladder.
The White team are one set clear of second place Willaura.
Both of the other matches where similarly one sided affairs with Willaura and Tatyoon both winning all 4 sets.
The strong winds made playing conditions particularly tricky with all teams strugglingly with ball tosses during serves.
Moyston struggled in their match with Tatyoon only managing 6 games for the morning.
Buangor and Ararat Red did not fare much better winning nine and 10 games respectively in their matches against Willaura and Ararat White.
With the forecast looking brighter for next week’s round at this stage, hopefully conditions will be a little easier for all players to continue their improvement.
In Saturday’s round three matches both Ararat teams will take to the road.
Tatyoon will host its first home match of the season against Ararat Red.
Second placed Willaura will host top-placed Ararat White in a top of the ladder clash in what is likely to be a tough match for both teams.
Buangor play Moyston at Ararat Tennis Club.
Organizer of the competition Leesa McInnes said that on field etiquette would be an area the association would try to educate junior players about during the season.
“Our focus this season will be on good sportsmanship,” she said.
“After seeing the Kyrgios behaviour this last couple of weeks we certainly want to discourage kids from following that example.
“Early signs point to the new Ararat White team shaping up to be a real threat for the season.
“Once the boys all find their form and hitting range they will be a very strong combination across the competition.”
