The Stawell Black team did manage to win one rink and have a draw on one of the others.
Landsborough chalked up its first win for the season defeating Aradale Blue by 10 shots.
Stawell managed to win two rinks over Ararat but Richard Fisher’s rink were playing aggressive bowls to which Stawell had no answer.
The closest game for the round was at Lake Bolac with Lake Bolac also winning two of the three rinks but not being able to cover Ararat VRI’s overall performance.
The anticipated game of the round between Aradale Red and Chalambar went the way of Chalambar with great wins by Roger Young and Tony Carra, Brett Sladdin was able to get some point for the home team.
In division two Ararat Green were not able to keep with the new Ladder leader Ararat VRI Blue with John Vanraaphorst setting the benchmark.
Ararat VRI Red won all the rinks against Chalambar.
Lake Bolac White kept with Lake Bolac Black for most of the day but fell seven shots short of causing an upset in the local derby.
Ararat Blue were too good at home for the Stawell Blue team winning by 10 shots.
Stawell Gold at home just missed the point against Stawell Golf by three shots in the closest game for the round.
Willaura had a great game at home against the Ararat Gold team with three close games with the visitor getting the points by five shots and Lake Bolac Red had the bye.
