In the opening fixture of the A Grade competition Jeffcott faced the runner-ups from last season, Donald Cricket Club.
Jeffcott took it to last year’s grand finalists defeating them 7-123 to Donald’s 79.
Daniel Atkins made 34 runs for Jeffcott before being caught out by Jake Leith.
Nicholas Atkins batted well for Jeffcott making 23 runs.
Leith performed well with the bat for Donald making 23 runs.
Donald’s Reece Murray took four wickets.
Brim-Kellalac-Sheep Hills and St Mary’s drew as well as Hopetoun and Birchip.
St Arnaud and Marnoo played on Sunday.
In the B Grade Jeffcott produced another win when the defeated St Mary’s 4-210 to 3-204.
Jeffcott’s Mark Griffiths made 120 runs before being caught out by Peter Roche.
St Mary’s Jeff Anderson made 73 runs before retiring to the bench.
Donald Cricket Club came away with a win in their B Grade opener.
Donald made 3-78 to Brim-Kellalac-Sheep Hills’ 50.
Jack Landwehr was the standout for Donald making 26 runs.
Jarrod Tickner was the only player top reach double digit runs for Brim-Kellalac-Sheep Hills making 18.
Birchip hosted Charlton for their first game of the season and drew on the day, both sides making 68 runs.
Tom Finlay was the best for Charlton making 18 runs while also taking two wickets.
Watchem Panthers were awarded an easy win when Hopetoun forfeited their opening game.
