Already under investigation after their galloper Darragh returned an elevated cobalt reading from a race at Ballarat on November 21 last year, the O'Sullivans have been informed by Racing Victoria Stewards of two further positives.
Two reports from Racing Analytical Services Limited confirmed that Gold A Plenty and Darragh returned elevated cobalt readings from pre-race urine samples at two separate meetings in August.
A pre-race urine sample taken from Gold A Plenty prior to the Crisp Steeple chase over 3900m at Sandown on August 7, contained cobalt at a mass concentration greater than 600 micrograms per litre of urine.
Darragh returned an elevated cobalt reading from a pre-race urine sample prior to competing in the Catanach's Jewellers Handicap over 1500m at Sandown on August 24, where the horse was well beaten.
Terry O’Sullivan took a firm stance against the allegations when he spoke to the Stawell Times-News on Thursday.
“We don’t know what is going on and how it keeps happening,” O’Sullivan said.
“It is no different to the scenario from November last year. We still haven't been charged or anything for that so it is a case of wait and see.”
O’Sullivan remained upbeat and focused on the job at hand.
“We have a big weekend of racing coming up this weekend so that is our focus at the minute,” O’Sullivan said.
“The stables are in good spirits at the minute because of all the good things happening we want to keep it that way.”
O’Sullivan said searches had been completed at the premises and that there was nothing found.
Stewards initially informed the O'Sullivans of the new irregularities on September 1 and 15 and are continuing their investigations.
