"I suppose it has been a success,” he said.
“We are still one of the clubs that is lucky to be around.
“There was a bigger commitment from younger group in the club this year.
“Plenty of people stepped up and took up roles in regards to fundraising during the year.
"I think one of our biggest fundraisers for the year apart from hosting the preliminary final was our sportsmans night.
McRoberts said the commitment will need to maintained for the club to continue its growth.
"I think we will need to maintain the same commitment from the younger people in 2017,” he said.
“If we can get people to stay on board and more people to come on board then it will help us in the future.”
McRoberts said the club will look to keep most people in their roles for the next season to develop some consistency.
"We do not want to change too much from what we did this year actually,” he said.
"Despite our lack of wins, it has still been a good place to be around.”
The Eagles managed their first win in two years against Great Western in round 14.
McRoberts said the win was a highlight and the result of hard work by many people.
"The senior football commitment improved this year,” he said.
“We have certainly narrowed the gap between ourselves and the top clubs.
“So that can only be a good thing for the club’s 2017 season.”
