Horsham Rural City Council chief executive Peter Brown said some of the proceeds from a 2012 water rights sale had been allocated for the mural and information boards located in Haven and two drinking fountains within Horsham.

“An artist brief was then developed with a set of criteria to evaluate expressions of interest,” he said.

“The selected artist is Giuseppe Percivati, also known as Pepe Gaka, an Italian who lives in Canada. He has worked in Australia before creating commissioned works and performing as a street artist.” 

The mural will go up at Haven recreation reserve picnic shelter and will measure 2.7 metres high by 3.1m wide.
