Halls Gap Jazz Festival: Grampians to remain home

SMOOTH: The Halls Gap Jazz Festival committee has no plans to move their event from the Grampians town.

The Halls Gap Jazz Festival will stay in the Grampians after organisers said there is no chance it is heading to Port Fairy in 2017.

An article in Friday’s Stawell Times-News and Ararat Advertiser incorrectly reported the festival was moving next year.

Festival committee member Don Calvert said the response had been overwhelming.

He said he was excited to showcase a mixed piece of entertainment this year.

“There will be a variety of jazz genres such as traditional, blues, swing and American songbook and theatrical and comedy musicals.”

The festival is also promising a more intimate affair than in the past with over 60 bands and performances spread across seven venues.

Mr Calvert said bands will be coming from all over the country.
