The side defeated Edenhope-Apsley 30-25 the grand final.
Kalkee coach Hayley Thomas said her side did well.
“When the intensity needed to be bought they stood up and they delivered,” she said.
“They were absolutely superb.”
The game did not start well for the Kees as the Saints edged to a 5-1 lead at the end of the first quarter.
In a low-scoring game it was hard for both teams to score.
“The standard of play was just amazing,” Thomas said.
“The defensive work up and down the court meant you couldn’t score at either end.
“I didn’t quite expect it to be that low scoring but it represents how much of a tussle it was out there.”
The Kees fought back into the game during the second quarter and by half-time had drawn level.
The score was 9-9 as each side continued to play strong defensive games.
The third quarter saw things begin to swing the way of Kalkee and the side edged ahead 19-16 with a quarter to go.
With the game on the line in the last quarter it was the Kees who stood up to claim the win despite the Saints starting favourites.
“I didn’t even realise we were underdogs,” Thomas said.
“My focus was clearly on us. I knew that the girls would give it their all.
“I wouldn’t worry how we were rated, but it does make it that little bit sweeter.”
Tara Jasper, Kalkee, won the medal for best on court.
